Stop emails

How to stop LinkedIn emails

Short answer

Click your profile picture, then Settings & Privacy, then Notifications, and turn email off category by category. Job alerts are separate: manage them from the Jobs page.

Gmail's Unsubscribe button

When Gmail offers it, Unsubscribe sits next to the sender's name at the top of the email. Click it, then confirm. Some senders send you to their website instead.

The full fix: LinkedIn's settings

On the web

Tick as you go
  1. Click your profile picture, then Settings & Privacy.
  2. Click Notifications in the left rail.
  3. Under Notifications you receive, open a category and turn off email for anything you don't need.
  4. Repeat for each category. Some let you pick how often email comes instead.

In the app

Tick as you go
  1. Tap your profile picture, then Settings & Privacy.
  2. Tap Notifications and go through the categories the same way.

Job alerts

On the web: Jobs, then Preferences, then Job alerts, where you can edit or delete each one. In the app: Jobs, the More icon, then Job alerts.

Newsletters

The Unsubscribe link at the bottom of a newsletter email stops email from all your LinkedIn newsletters. You stay subscribed in your feed.

What you can't turn off

Expect account and security emails, like sign-in codes, to keep coming.

If they keep coming

A Gmail filter moves them out of your inbox the moment they land. Set it up once on a computer and it works on your phone too.

Tick as you go
  1. In Gmail's search bar, click Show search options.
  2. In From, enter linkedin.com
  3. Click Create filter.
  4. Tick Skip the Inbox (Archive it) and Apply the label, then pick a label or create one called LinkedIn.
  5. Click Create filter again.

LinkedIn's help center lists addresses on linkedin.com and its subdomains, like e.linkedin.com. Heads up: this also files LinkedIn's emails about new messages.

MailSynth

Or let Ada handle it

MailSynth is an AI Gmail assistant built by people with ADHD. Ada, the orange seal behind it, sorts your Gmail into labels and sends you one digest email a day.

Reply to her with “unsubscribe me from LinkedIn job alerts” and she takes care of it. She can also file anything else from LinkedIn under a label that skips your inbox: archived right away, still listed in your digest. Nothing is deleted.

Copy this, sign up, and paste it into a reply to Ada

Hi Ada, please unsubscribe me from LinkedIn job alerts. Put anything else from LinkedIn under a LinkedIn label, archived right away but still in my digest.
