Stop emails

How to stop Quora emails

Short answer

Go to Quora's Settings, then Email & Notifications, and switch off what you don't want. For one kind of email, like the Digest, the unsubscribe link at the bottom of that email is quicker.

Gmail's Unsubscribe button

When Gmail offers it, Unsubscribe sits next to the sender's name at the top of the email. Click it, then confirm. Some senders send you to their website instead.

The full fix: Quora's settings

On the web

Tick as you go
  1. On quora.com, open Settings, then Email & Notifications. The direct link is quora.com/settings/notifications.
  2. Switch off the emails you don't want. Some also let you choose how often they arrive.
  3. Not every Quora email is listed there. For the rest, use the unsubscribe link in that email.

In the app

Tick as you go
  1. Tap your profile icon, then Settings.
  2. Open the email and notification settings and switch off the same things.

Done with Quora?

Deactivating your account stops all Quora email. Your posts stay on the site.

What you can't turn off

Some emails can't be turned off, like updates to Quora's Terms of Service or Privacy Policy. Quora says those are legally required.

If they keep coming

A Gmail filter moves them out of your inbox the moment they land. Set it up once on a computer and it works on your phone too.

Tick as you go
  1. In Gmail's search bar, click Show search options.
  2. In From, enter quora
  3. Click Create filter.
  4. Tick Skip the Inbox (Archive it) and Apply the label, then pick a label or create one called Quora.
  5. Click Create filter again.

Quora's help center doesn't list its sending addresses, so this uses the name. Gmail checks it against the sender's name and address.

Or let Ada handle it

MailSynth is an AI Gmail assistant built by people with ADHD. Ada, the orange seal behind it, sorts your Gmail into labels and sends you one digest email a day.

Reply to her with “unsubscribe me from Quora digests” and she takes care of it. She can also file anything else from Quora under a label that skips your inbox: archived right away, still listed in your digest. Nothing is deleted.

Copy this, sign up, and paste it into a reply to Ada

Hi Ada, please unsubscribe me from Quora digests. Put anything else from Quora under a Quora label, archived right away but still in my digest.
