Stop emails

How to stop unwanted emails, one app at a time

Short guides for the apps that email the most. Each covers the unsubscribe link, the app's own settings, and a Gmail filter for whatever slips through. Checked against each app's help pages in October 2026.

Works for almost any sender

  1. Click unsubscribe

It's at the bottom of most marketing emails. It usually stops one kind of email, not everything.

  2. Use Gmail's button

When Gmail offers it, Unsubscribe sits next to the sender's name. If your Gmail has it, More, then Manage subscriptions lists your subscriptions in one place.

  3. Filter the rest

Click Show search options, put the sender in From, then Create filter with Skip the Inbox (Archive it).

MailSynth

Or let Ada handle it

MailSynth is an AI Gmail assistant built by people with ADHD. Ada, the orange seal behind it, sorts your Gmail into labels and sends you one digest email a day.

Reply to her with “unsubscribe me from Quora” and she takes care of it. Anything you'd rather not see can go under a label that skips your inbox and still shows up in your digest. Nothing is deleted.

Copy this, sign up, and paste it into a reply to Ada

Hi Ada, please put notification emails from social apps, like Quora, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok, Facebook, Nextdoor and Pinterest, under a Social label, archived right away but still in my digest.

With Ada, nothing is deleted: archived email stays in All Mail and Gmail search, and starred email always stays in your inbox.
